Who can apply

Open to all adults 18 and older. There is no income cap, no means test, and no requirement that you be in financial crisis. You may apply for yourself. Each person submits their own application. Medical care, housing, business ventures, education, educators, retirees, seniors, and other personal or professional goals.

  First-time buyers, families, and property owners with a clear housing goal.

• Starting a business

  Salespeople, independent workers, and entrepreneurs at any stage.

• Going to school

  Adults returning to school, completing a credential, or investing in training.

• Teachers

  Working teachers investing in their classrooms or professional development.

• Retired teachers

  Retired teachers with living, medical, housing, or personal goals.

• Seniors

  Seniors, older adults, and retirees with medical, housing, or personal goals.

• General grants

  Anyone 18 or older with a clear purpose and willing to explain it plainly.

What does not make a file a loan

DHHS grant programs are not loans. Selection does not create monthly payments to DHHS. Applying does not create debt. Not every complete application is selected - billions in grants still means each file is reviewed on its own.
